Week 6 Wrapped

Commish's team (🚨👆👉👇🚨) and The Fast and the Jahmyrious competed in the Bowl of Ineptitude this week. We each scored less than 80 points, have candidates for Little Stinker of the Week, and to make matters worse TFatJ beat me. I thought I had a surefire win. So did my opponent! In our fantasy hockey1 league group chat, the Manager of TFatJ wrote, "You're going to kill me this week."

Wrong.

MoTFatJ is the commissioner of that fantasy hockey league. I can live with losing to another Commish (see sister blog: midwest is best). He understands what it takes to provide fun and joy to the masses. All I can do is tip my cap and recap another week.

Week 6 Results

Week 6 Preview

Swerski's Super Fans wins against Acho Endzone. You just can't stop Josh Allen.

Zero points - Misery loves company, so I'm happy to be down in the muck with Swerski's. David Montgomery put up a goose egg, Josh Allen was mortal, and Acho Endzone won with 85.82 points (7.92 coming from Jacoby Brissett).

🚨👆👉👇🚨 takes care of business against The Fast and the Jahmyrious. Brian Robinson can't fill the Gibbs-sized hole in the TFatJ roster.

Half point - Brian Robinson put up two points, and I'm honestly just trying to find something to feel good about.

Suphian's Revenge keeps it rolling against Weekend Jail, which is wondering when its bye week is.

Full Point - Another low scoring matchup, but Suphian's Revenge wins with a healthy margin and a nice week from James Cook III.

#MNF gets back to .500 against Rawdawgs. Jordan Love goes HAM against the Cowboys at Lambeau.

Full Point - #MNF won and Love looked like a hero compared to Dak Prescott.

Crouching Tiger cannot pull together enough wide receivers to beat .08 Over Par, who gets a reprieve and a welcomed win.

Half Point - The Sitting Kitty got only 18.10 points from wide receivers and 29.90 points from tight ends (Bowers, Likely). This was enough for a win against .08 Over Par, who to its credit only started one Cleveland Brown this week (Fannin).

Self-adjudicated score: 3/5

Prediction record this week: 2-3

Prediction record through Week 6: 17-13

Players, superlativized

High Flyer of the Week

given to the highest scoring rostered, active player each week

Tyler Shough, QB, of The Fast and the Jahmyrious put up 26.96 points and is the reason I'm having a bad week. I triple checked this to make sure I am not wallowing in self-pity.

Little Stinker of the Week

given to the lowest scoring rostered, active player each week

Back in the realm of self-pity, Commish's 🚨👆👉👇🚨 saw a goose egg from Cam Skattebo this week. To my surprise, running mate Najee Harris of Rawdawgs put up 2 rushing yards for 0.20 points. How did the Giants put up 27 points this week? Wrong answers only.

Dishonorable mentions

Bad Benching

given to the highest scoring rostered, but benched, player each week

Kenneth Walker III, RB, of Swerski's Super Fans had 26.90 bench points. Had Swerski's manager checked its lineup, it could have beaten Acho Endzone this week. Sad!

Dishonorable mentions

Waiver Whiff

given to the non-rostered player who scored the most points each week

Tre Tucker, WR, Las Vegas had 24.20 points (97 receiving yards, 2 TDs) in a close one against Buffalo. Who'd have thought?

Exceeding Expectations Star of the Week

given to the team whose points total most greatly exceeded their projection each week

The only team that exceeded its projection this week was Crouching Tiger, who put up 100.92 against a projection of 87.49 in a win against .08 Over Par. D'Andre Swift, RB, and Isaiah Likely, TE, did the heavy lifting here.

Commish's Bright Move of the Week

something Commish noticed and liked each week

Suphian's Revenge has two serviceable QBs: Bryce Young and Kirk Cousins. Bryce Young has serious upside with his mobility, and getting each of these guys in free agency or on waivers helped it invest in having strong skill positions.

Looking Forward
