do you like football

Week 4 Preview

Aloha from beautiful Hawaii, where I've enjoyed the sights and the sounds of the islands from the comfort of assorted conference rooms. In between discussions about "synergies," "motions," and the like, I've been daydreaming about Week 4 of do you like football. This post is being drafted during the fourth quarter of the Thursday Night Game. Blame it on the synergies.

Walking the Wire

Week 4 Wire

Since we last chatted, there has been some waiver action in the league. #MNF picked up Kenyon Sadiq after a 20-point week against Detroit. We'll see if he can keep up that pace against Chicago, though it may be a moot point if #MNF starts the oft-maligned1 Juwan Johnson over him.

Acho Endzone tried to get back in God's good graces by dropping Josh Jacobs, who remains on the Commissioner's Exempt List. Or was it merely the appeal of adding Ollie Gordon, who is due for an uptick in usage after Achane's injury (sorry .08 Over Par).

Speaking of .08 Over Par, it has had a rash of injuries that are derailing its season in a serious way. Newcomer KC Concepcion Jr. of the Browns is in the starting lineup this week and will come in close to the projected 8.17 points. Don't lose the faith! We'll likely see a continued pattern of streaming from this squad as it pushes to stay competitive in spite of the injury bug.

Lastly, the league allowed first-place 🚨👆👉👇🚨 to pick up Braelon Allen after Breece Hall's injury. It seems to Commish that while this league might like football its managers do not necessarily watch football2.

No movement on LockWatch this week, but Drew has a role to play this season.

Highest Projected Starter of the Week

Josh Allen

Josh Allen, QB, Swerski's Super Fans

22.95 points, vs the New England Patriots.

This might need to be renamed the "Josh Allen Memorial Award for Highest Projected Points." Will the Patriots move past their head coach's infidelity3 and make the AFC East competitive?

Lowest Projected Starter of the Week

QB, WR, RB, TE only

Dalton Schultz

Dalton Schultz, TE, Rawdawgs

7.82 points, vs Dallas.

An up and down start for Schultz, who had a 20-point Week 2, but only three catches for 4.50 points in Week 3. Rawdawgs can't fall back on Dallas Goedert, who is out this week, so we'll see if Rawdawgs can beat Weekend Jail in spite of its TE woes.

Honorable mention

Weekend Jail currently has DeVonta Smith (WR, Philadelphia) in the starting lineup (projected 5.16 points), but he's unlikely to make it onto the field this week after suffering a hamstring injury. We'll assume this changes before kickoff on Sunday.

Game of the Week

Acho Endzone vs #MNF

Projected: 112.39 to 114.76, 227.15 combined4

Two 1-2-0 teams looking for relevance. Only one of them will be back to .500 by the time this one ends.

Snoozefest of the Week

The Fast and the Jahmyrious vs .08 Over Par

Projected: 113.31 to 93.40, 206.71 combined4

Poor .08 Over Par is starting two Cleveland Browns, and TFatJ is set up for a big week on the scoreboard.

Commish's Picks

Week 4 Matchups

Taken with under two minutes to go in a tied Thursday Night Game between the Steelers and Browns

On the season: 9-6
